Ah! I wasn't aware of that. Yep... with that particular intel I'll take it so far as to suggest their pricing revisions are specifically to discourage modelers. We're a lot of trouble, frankly, requiring fine detail, dimensional accuracy and defect-free output. Art, especially organic forms, is "never perfect", and there's much more built-in tolerance.

I think you hit the nail on the head.    I like the service bureau model though - Wonder if a "Shapeways" like service targeted at modellers (rail, vehicles, military, ship, etc could make it?

Just to be precise Etsy and Shapeways were both initially funded by the same investors - and are in a major new cross platform partnership...

ETSY ipo-ed a couple years back...
