Man, that sucks about the BSME.  I was a member there in my teens...  There's probably still boxes of my stuff under the platform...
I wonder who will get the case of vintage Playboys that was under the HO layout?  (Pun intended?)

The layout might be the only thing holding the 3rd floor together...

Were you from Troy?

That was my parents' home town.  I lived there about a year (when I was two, don't recall it) when my father was working at Alco in Schenectady.  My mother grew up just over the hill, walking distance, from RPI on W. Sunnyside across from the old Burden Estate and worked children's day camps at Frear Park, adjacent to the RPI campus.  I still have relatives in the area and grew up to young adulthood visiting Troy at least a couple of weeks every summer.  I still stop there every few years to relive some wonderful times and wonderful stories. 8)

I was referring to Ed's link regarding the Baltimore Society of Model Engineers.  Never been to Troy.

I too watched the NEBW video years ago.. and after seeing the 3D tour, I drew a few conclusions.

1: Camera Angels hide alot!
2: The saddest part was the work areas.. which clearly show the members just dont give a crap about what they have.  (There is a difference between clutter around works in progress, and piles or crap sitting around.)

For instance, Penn State's layout is in a dorm building.  You have to call them, have someone come up and get you, and escort you in and out.

I recently was told that layout is gone, a victim of space planning.  Membership had bumped higher.
