Scale Trains Gevo issue

Has anyone had this issue? Placed my new Gevo on the DCC track ( NCE) and it started running immediately with sound. Couldn’t control it with the power cab, so took it off and reset it on the track. No movement or noise. Then tried to program the decoder with loco number, but didn’t work. Tried to reset on programming track per instructions but still nothing. CV 8 read 151. Works fine on the old DC layout. Wha5 am I missing in programm8ng this decoder?  Thanks!

These are batch programmed. A bunch of them get blasted with the data all at the same time. It’s not a perfect system and every once in a while a loco misses an data point. Both of my ET44s came glitched. A quick email to ScaleTrains and they sent me the full data file. A quick reprogramming and they were spot on. You may have a corrupt file. It’s easily fixed.

Mission success- was able to get everything up and running. Turns out I really only needed to use “3” as the decoder initial number as opposed to “03!” Always the simple things like RTFQ. Anyway, thanks again to everyone who offered assistance, as well as Scale Trains Support, who were very prompt in answering. NowI just have to figure out all the ins and outs of the LokSound decoder.

Mark,
I'm glad that the problem is resolved. Thanks for following up.

However the solution brings up more questions.  You said that you couldn't program the address of the decoder.  I assumed that you did that on the programming track.  If that is the case then the original address programmed in the decoder is irrelevant. It is not used for programming-track mode programming.  Then you said that you were able to reset the loco by writing to CV8.  If you could do that, then you could have programmed other things (like the address).

Using the 4-digit address "03" instead of 2-digit address "3" address does not explain why the loco took off running in the beginning.

I'm puzzled.  :?
