Beautiful model and weathering.

However, in some of the shots, the limited depth of field gives it away, where the near end of the loco is in focus, and the far end of the loco and/or the background is out of focus.  Have you tried one of those programs which lets you stitch together multiple tripod shots?

Late to the party on this.... Really incredible job. The only 2 "giveaway" things that stand out to my engineer's eye are the "open" angle cocks and the lack of detail definition on the brake cylinders. If you could cut the "piston" part out, drill a hole and insert an appropriately-sized piece of metal tubing, they would really "pop." Third possible thing would be to use real chain for the end railings. Please take those as constructive positive suggestions! I'm literally mesmerized looking at the photos. I don't have the patience for anything like this.

@ednadolski, reviving this thread since I thought I would find information on your engine pilot details. Which I did, and that is great.  :) Sorry to see all the pictures gone! That is not that great  :(

But I snapped this pic from a video of yours:

Your post says that the glad hands are from PSC. Does that go for the brackets as well? Did you buy directly from PSC or have you found a dealer that carries these parts? I have had some problems getting in touch with PSC. They do not answer my e-mails. That's why I am interested in finding a another way of obtaining these parts.

Yes those are the PSC parts.  I think they sell just the glad hands as well as a kit with  glad hands + brackets + hoses  (Aside: I made my own hoses from wire insulation since I wanted a 'finer' look).  I probably got them at the old Caboose Hobbies but IDK if the new Caboose still carries those parts.  However I believe that either P&D Hobbies (http://pdhobbyshop.com/)  or Des Plaines Hobbies (http://www.desplaineshobbies.com/store/) carry O scale detail parts so they would be worth checking out.  (caveat: those web sites are not very good for finding things, so it helps a lot if you can find out exactly what parts you need.)

Right that was the Photobucket debacle.  They broke a lot of websites in addition to a lot of TRW.   I'll see if I can fix some of that up (might take some time)

Thank you very much Ed! I will check them out.

Yes, I am aware of that debacle, but I did in no way mean to imply that you ought to fix them  :)

But it would be really nice to see those pictures back in the thread. A picture is worth . . .

I'm slowly editing my threads replacing the broken BothoPhucket links with photos I uploaded locally to the forum.

Fixed up the broken images.  I re-uploaded the original pics so some of the cropping may have been lost.

Great!  Thanks Ed - the thread is now complete again!

I can't get over just how realistic that model looks (in the "beauty shots" taken outdoors on a sunny day).  Incredible!

Late to this party, but just read the whole thread, and man am I bummed.  Building a Proto48 critter of dubious heritige and I think I need to step away until I forget this thread.

THAT LOCO LOOKS FANTASTIC.

Wish I was half that good, perhaps 40%, sigh......

Thanks for the kind words!  Why not start up a thread under the Weathering, Detailing, and Scratchbuilding page?   Folks would love to see pics and follow your progress,  plus there is lots of valuable input & feedback.   Also TRW definitely needs more 1:48 scale representation. ;)

(And @peteski is always happy to provide plenty of upvotes  :D )

I'm planning to upgrade this to the LokSound L Select decoder so I can use the FT features.   No timeframe, as I currently have a lot of projects in the pipeline ;)

Proto MRL 132 has a fresh new look:

Nice to see she still has her brooms, but if I were to start over today I am not sure how I would model the new modern air conditioner in O scale  ;)
