....then these must have existed.

I have not seen offset domes on tank cars. The pic is from a stock certificate from the Eastern Oil Company dated 1902.
Does anyone have actual pics of these tank cars?

Wow, the photo on that site was the origin of the stock certificate artwork! Here's a larger version of it:

And it looks like that area is Titusville that is just a few miles from Trunkeyville

Notice the use of a A&GW flatcar. When the Erie was 6' gauge they laid a 3rd rail from this area in PA to the West side of Warren OH. Where a branch to Cleveland would reach the oil refineries. The branch was standard gauge and the 3rd rail let the cars make the whole trip.

I have heard that the Yosemite car had the dome offset for use on a cable incline, but wouldn't swear to it.

From the Densmore site:  "They were unstable, top heavy, prone to leaks, and limited in capacity by the eight-foot width of the flatcar. "  These were standard gauge, but the flatcars were the same width as the D&RGW's narrow gauge cars of the 1880s.

So do you think the tanks in the foreground of the picture are ex flatcar tanks discarded when the tank car became standard?

I'd say it's a very safe bet.
