I really cannot understand all of this irrational paranoia over "killer robots" and "evil AI" when we still have enough nuclear bombs to waste the whole planet several times over. WTF?

It's a matter of whose (or what's) finger is on the "nuclear triggers". 

So far, "AI" seems to be just an artificial extension of our human stupidity, but without the feedback.
