Kato #4 turnout repair
« on: January 20, 2018, 09:50:23 PM »

I have a Kato #4 turnout that is missing one little post that holds
the movable rail contact down. See red arrows on photo.
Has any one replaced one of these hold down posts or fixed the problem
in some other way?
Thanks
Al
Some further info - the little post, actually a tab(ear)- one of two that are part of a larger
post that goes into the turnout body. The fix, if one tab(ear)  is broken off like mine, is to
very carefully grind the remaining part of the tab flush and using a dremel in a drill press, drill
a 0.015" hole <0.10" deep where the tab was and press fit a short piece of brass wire in the hole and bend over the
movable points plate so that it looks like the tab on the opposite side.
