If I modeled it, they would laugh

While researching my industrial building challenge model, I came across this thing right next door (50 Pearl Street, Trenton):

I figure if I modeled it faithfully, everyone would laugh. It simply looks too ridiculous to be believable.

Is this one of those Ed's Law moments?
Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

no laughing here - we get lots of stucco over brick down south, and it all weathers like that.  Were I not otherwise engaged I could photograph dozens of buildings like that in an afternoon in the metro New Orleans area.

I'd love to see you do it.  Don't forget however that brick size matters!

Or Downtown Deco:

I have wanted to try one of their kits but they are almost all too whimsical for me. Model the ordinary.

Best wishes, Dave

I would think it would be a cool addition to a layout!  Go for it.

That would be cool to model.   It would blend in here in metro Detroit with the one exception you would have flaking bright yellow pain on the stucco and all the metal would be stripped off

Another popular thing to do in Michigan is to paint the brick.

if I had a dollar for every instance something directly from the real world was called not prototypical...  that would make a interesting model. Do it!
