Disposition of Storage cases

Over the years, I have collected a large amount of Atlas "Medium" size jewel storage (engine) boxes, as well as Roundhouse (Boxcar) storage boxes.  From all of the projects that I have done.

Are these boxes "Recyclable"??   I cant seem to be able to even give these things away..

I'm surprised that you have a problem giving them away (or even utilizing them yourself). They make great see-through storage boxes for all sorts of stuff (N scale model RR and otherwise).  Or, if you ever want to sell your used locos, you can get more money for the ones in original boxes (plus those boxes and inserts keep them safe from damage during shipping).

As far as recycling goes, those boxes are polystyrene.  That is #6 resin recycling ID code ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resin_identification_code ).

I ask around first.  If I have no takers, I separate the plastic and paper inserts, and throw them in the recycling. I live with an "environmentalist," and she really hates the plastic.

I'm in need of some atlas cases, particularly corn syrup tank car ones.

I love these things! If you need to get rid of a bunch, I'll take em for the cost of shipping.

Yes, I DO USE THEM.
I have a lot of Kato-type, since they have NO Small holes for tiny parts to fall through.  I have them for:  Misc. Parts, Styrene Bits, B23-7 small parts, MT coupler parts, etc...

I just noticed, as I was "house-cleaning" (organizing and looking for any stray small detail parts.)
That I had a lot of extra boxes.

mecgp7 - got your PM! Let me know which ones or both.
Ed Kapuscinski - please specify which ones you need, thanks.
mu26aeh - not sure what size the corn syrup cars are?

The boxes are:
Atlas one are 6.25 x 2 x 1 inches
Roundhouse are 5 x 1.75 x 1 inches,  (Have some Atlas of this size too)

The corn syrup cars are are the same size, along with a lot of the newer trainman cars I've noticed.  But I'm trying to get them with the nests included, so it sounds like you might not have those  :?

I usually tossed the "nests" if they were anything other than locomotive ones.  Sorry  :(

This is being carried over to the Trading Post, for disposition of the remaining boxes...
