I went to college in Carbondale, Illinois and saw these on some IC trains from 1964-1968 and really thought they were neat. I plan to get a flat and two trailers ordered soon. I assume it sholdn't be too hard to drop the wheels and dollies off the trailers and mount them on the flat. These cars were very distinctive and an interesting concept.

The Trainworx trailers are designed for easy removal of the suspension (wheels) and landing gearing (dollies).   ;)

I did a little digging about the IC Flexi-vans.  They were built in 1959, which means they were Mark I, and took 36' trailers.
Numbers were 900, 901 and 902.

Data here: http://www.icrr.net/passenger4.htm

I might still get one of these, as I'm not holding my breath for Mark I cars to ever be made in N scale.

That's only one series.  Here's some end-tables for you:

So those are Mark IV cars?   Cool!
Now I definitely need to get one.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
