Union Pacific built a group of transfer cabooses at their shops in Grand Island, Nebraska in 1953 using components from retired boxcars. Often overlooked, they survived in service well into the second generation diesel era.

'Bout time, guys! :D  Of course you know the prototypes you cite were cut down from double-sheathed wooden cars, but the stand-in is close enough, for me at least, and hopefully for others as well. We certainly appreciate the nod to pre-Borg UP!

Craig & Steve,

Any chance you'll produce a full-size bay window caboose? The transfer-style cars are nice but we could use a regularly produced bay window caboose, and one that's not an SP prototype. Perhaps the popular International design?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

That's one we're looking at.

Ooh, I like that L&N transfer caboose in the Family Lines scheme.  I have an N scale Family Lines transfer caboose patched for the SBD, so, due to my switch to HO, I sure could use another!

I want to thank you guys for NOT announcing another C&EI hopper release this month, so all I need to budget for is an EJE caboose.

Maybe you should do a 10th anniversary "Bluford Mining Co" hopper, or get someone to produce a Bluford, IL coaling tower.  Just a thought...

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

If you folks do a full bay window caboose that is wood sheathed instead of steel, I'll jump for joy (and my wallet will jump for the "Click to Buy" button).  Another common 20th century animal that shows up on lots of railroads, but has never been commercially offered in N Scale.
