Figures.  Right after I finish removing the printing from an NdeM Athearn one and getting decals on it for PC.    I'm in for more PC though since these are ext post trailers.  Maybe even a RDG one.   Probably should buy some flats to put them on someday.

What have you guys got against NdeM?   

Yeah, I don't see myself pulling the trigger on these.  Got the ones I want already.   Now, Z-Van in PC....

Probably nothing against NdeM, but if I remember right, they came in twin packs.  One would be a rare sight on most US lines, two in the same train was probably unheard of in most of the country.  Run one, strip and repaint the other.

OFF TOPIC:  What I would like is an NdeM boxcar suitable for international service in the early 1970s.  Atlas has a very nice one, but it's old enough that it probably wasn't in US interchange service.  MT made a 50 ft car suitable for the late 70s, but it's too modern for me.

Actually nothing - but I think the series Athearn did were built in 1978, which is too new for me. Besides, I got a deal on a couple.

Nothing really.  They went up on the trading post here on TRW right about the same time Athearn put up a Facebook post on how to remove pad printing from their models.  Sometimes the stars do align. Still have 3 more to decal.  Just trying to decide who to decal them for.  Not really wanting to get another sheet of decals from Microscale and not use 3/5 of the sheet just to get more PC.    I missed out when Athearn produced the Fruehauf Z in PC unfortunately.

Dropping the sarcasm...  Yeah, totally not suprising that you guys would be stripping and redecorating those trailers.  What is surprising is that in 2014 Athearn re-ran NdeM when some of the original 2008 release were still available new.  And that moreover, they didn't re-run Penn Central at that time, when the original run of that roadname was fetching twice the MSRP on the rare occasions they showed up on eBay. 

I mean, notwithstanding the goodness of having some NdeM in the mix, there was a hell of a lot more Penn Central traveling around the country.

"lot more Penn Central":  I'll certainly agree with that, even in the Northwest.  In 1972 (the only year I have numbers for), the Pennsylvania Truck Lines, owned by Penn Central, had over half as many truck trailers/Flexivans as NdeM had freight cars.  I have no figures on PC trailers NOT owned/assigned to PTL.
