It looks better when it is not enlarged 5x actual size, but what alternatives are there to create windshields?  Any thoughts?  I guess I could take a piece of heavy acetate and carefully shape with a file, then glue in place with MS Kristal Clear.  Any other ideas?

What I don't like about using liquid window "glass" material is that it dries into a lens-like concave shape.  Many years ago I worked on improving the appearance of a Model Power F40PH (it was the only one available at the time).  I filed the windshield openings to get rid of the draft angle on then made a tracing of the opening. Then using that tracing I cut and filed pieces of 1/16" clear acrylic. Once the new "glass" panes fit well, I glued them in using epoxy. The improvement of flush-fitting windshields over the original "glass" inside the shell was quite dramatic. But those windshields have simpler shape with straight edges. It would be difficult to use that method to fabricate more complex shape of the windshields in your model.

I think that the method you mentioned is probably the easiest and would give that flat pane effect.

For making windows, I just cut out some clear acrylic and use krystal klear to glue it in place.

That looks good (even if I'm not a fan of liquid window material).

Doug, see this thread- still looking for additional material ideas- I have some in hand but have not tried them yet.

Thanks Russ, some more dry brushing, adding workers and more detail and losing the pump (covering a hole).

Hasn't been in quite a long time and it was on the UP that the first battery fires were experienced in Texas... leading to Rail Power to recall all of their battery powered units.  Many were rebuilt to gen-sets...

Perhaps Rail Power bought their batteries from Samsung's supplier.

Picked up a BNSF Kato 4449 the other day. It will soon lose its skirts and be relettered to the SP.  This is my 5th GS-4.  I have two first runs in daylight, an all black AFT version, a Concor sans skirts in 1/2 daylight and now this one.  Need a few more I think.

I will not induce shock therapy this weekend. Last weekend making tufts with static grass and fly swatter. Negative
clip on metal tray, tufts on wax paper and alligator clip on pin to metal tray and somehow something touched the
tray and boy that was a ZAP. Static grass flying everywhere.
