Removing Latex Caulk From Cork

I originally attached my ME Code 55 Flex Track to cork roadbed using latex caulk.  It's been about a year now and I'm seeing the track separating from the caulk in a number of places.  This is N-Scale track and I think the problem is that there isn't enough caulk to hold the track securely like there would be on HO track.  Consequently, it now looks like I am going to have to remove all of the track, get rid of the dried up caulk and start over.  Any suggestions as to how to remove the caulk from the cork with out ruining the cork?  I'm thinking sanding, since scraping could damage the cork.  Fire away with any suggestions.

If the track is lifting you can just push it down with a straight edge and run a bead of thin ACC under the track.

I've never used caulk, but Liquid Nails always worked for me. On my latest door layout all the track is glued to the cork with ACC  :ashat:
