D&SNG boxcar question

I have seen plenty of pictures of ex-D&RGW boxcars.  Basically, they all look alike.  There is a new(?) one in the Durango yard that doesn't look like anything I've seen on the Colorado narrow gauge.  Does anyone have any information on the oversized purpleish "boxcar" on the far left side of these two pictures?

Bonus points:  Why do they have an inflatable tomato in the depot grass?  I sent that question to the railroad's website, and never got a reply, so maybe it's a secret...

They seem to have quite a fleet of diesels now, and not just their odd industrial types.  The one hiding behind the small shed on Oct 29 would make a nice unit for Nn3, and much cheaper and easier to maintain than a steamer for those just getting into narrow gauge.

JohnB:  Actually, I assumed it was supposed to be a pumpkin, but have never seen a bright red pumpkin before.  At least in the webcam, it looks much more like a tomato!

Also, thank you for the links, but I was looking more for information on the car itself.  It's clearly NOT a D&RGW 3000-series boxcar, so what is it?  Homemade on flatcar #6634?  For revenue use, specifically as a rolling billboard, just an experiment, ???

Jeff:  You might be able to find one at a craft shop, possible in the kitchen/dining decorations.  It looks like plastic, so the cheapest one they have would probably be perfect.
