You had me at Volvo. 245 none the less. Great find.

I'm without one currently. Restored a lovely '79 245DL and part-finished a rebuild of an '88. By far, the older of the two was more fun and way more missed. Live on Garfield (who doesn't name their cars right?)

Oh nice.

One of my dreams is a really nicely done 245 Restomod, with a big V8 in it, and modern creature comforts (I can't live without AC and  Bluetooth, and I love my six speed semi-auto).

I'm still holding out for someone to make an N-scale series 3 Jaguar XJ6.

I've driven the turbo 7's and 8's but never the 240-based ones. I'd like to try one if only just to feel what it's like.

Next one? Just like that first one would suit me just fine. It was a DL but sold as an export model that was picked up in Sweden and driven around Europe before its Canadian owner shipped it home to Newfoundland. I brought it from that Island to mine. For only a DL it had just about every factory option going including a beautiful chrome luggage rack on the roof with looked oh so sharp. For a car it was quirky as heck but I loved every minute of it and miss it every day.

Oh yeah man, I am STILL jealous of that car! The 240T wagon was the stuff.

Here's my starting point:

Does still running an Electrolux canister vacuum cleaner that's just as old as I am (60) get me any street cred with these Volvo lovers?

Mine has more dents in it from rolling down the stairs, and now I'm having to modify bags to fit it.  It still outpulls my shop vac.    This has been my 'layout room' vacuum since I was about 12 years old.

You're not the only one. I still use my Electroluxl Model # 1453 with an automatic cord winder.  Plenty of suction and I love how easy it to dispose of the dirt bags. All the new bag-less vacuums are way too messy - they stink!  I have no problems finding bags for mine (or at last when I bought a batch couple of years ago). The unit is still all original except for the hose. The original one got stiff and cracked. I replaced if few years ago with new vinyl hose - it still has a nice swivel handle.
