Does anyone have a suggestion as to coupler replacements for these models?

The models appear to be sitting slightly high, so unfortunately, not really ... or rather, not easily.  Accu-Mates and BLIs would be a straight swap.  Athearn doesn't design their coupler boxes to accept MTL knuckles, so some surgery is required on that metal underframe in order to get MTLs to work.  What's needed to make the model fully prototypical is to mill the pockets to accept the MTL 2001 offset shanks and mill the bolsters ~.020" to lower the model.

I was thinking the other day that Morning Sun must be doing a book on auto rack cars as they aren't part of the 'X' car series and they did two books on piggybacks but didn't include any autoracks.  I looked through my stuff and have some pictures showing unloading, but they are early 60's with bridge plates.

@wcfn100 Jason you'll be pleased to know that on the MFCL yesterday Jim Eager confirmed him and Jim Kinkaid were working on an autorack book(s).

They were looking for a couple of photos still though so I'm not sure how far off it is.
