Tomytec GMC moving bus problems

Hello Folks,

I have a new GMC 'moving' bus set that I purchased recently.  I love it, but it has problems following the wire buried in the Tomytec roadway, especially coming off curves or tracking the wires in the switchable intersections.  My other Japanese outline buses have no problem tracking accurately. It appears that the guide magnet is weaker in the new GMC bus chassis.  Has anyone else had a problem, or did I receive a dud?  I posted a similar post in a buried thread elsewhere, but figured it may get lost, so I apologize in advance for the double post.

Thanks,
Ajay

Magnets also rely on the distance to the ferrous object, wire in this case,  maybe the tab with the magnet that steers the vehicle is simply too far away from the road surface to attract to the embedded wire.  You could test this by adding #4 steel washers until it works, and either glue those in place or bend the tab closer.

Tomytec (unlike Faller) doesn't use a tiny magnet on a brass tab. It has a big-honkin' magnet in a plastic holder. it is not adjustable.  I have one of those models, but nothing to run it on, so I can't offer any additional advice.  :|
