I wonder if they are designed to fit in the trip pin hole? I'm guessing the back is flat so it would take some careful work to make it operational. I bought a set and would like to see what others are able to do with them.

Neah, I already rolled my own (for friend's CONX gasoline train).   :D I suspect the MT version uses laser-cut task board or laser board. It is easier for me to make them out of yellow-painted black styrene (for opacity).  Using a 0402 red LED. No duct tape is involved - real men use gaffer's tape.  ;)  Photos have been taken during construction ind write-up is in the works (buried with 100 other projects I am working on).
