Is that a bush or sapling growing on the end of the car, or simply some branches from passing through overgrown vegetation?

It looked like it was reallly growing there.

Chuck:  If I remember the story right, they had protests, but the Wenatchee Indians decided it could stay, but I can't remember their reasoning.  Probably they and Skookum had some relationship.

The only thing I could find on Google was this:
https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=860&dat=20000524&id=YgkfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=H8sEAAAAIBAJ&pg=3799,4923198&hl=en

There are quite a few stories from the Wenatchee paper, but one has to be a subscriber to read them.  I used to read their website, but when they decided to restrict it to print subscibers only, I never went back.  No online-only option at all, and if I get the print edition, why would I want the online?

I have seen cut outs for trucks, never a skirt for the the trucks.  Is the skirting structural for the bolster?

I am referring to the bulkhead flat. the picture got cut.

A little late, but I figured since I actually did something this weekend, I would post it. Also, yes, they are "Horribly-Oversized," but I will make up for it this weekend at the Atlantic City N-Scale Gathering. Anyway, my meager contributions:

I managed to finally get around to painting two of my JNR Steam engines, which I had been dreading due to all of the preparation involved in painting steam engines that I have heard from others. Fortunately, these where not too bad. The 2-8-2 is a JNR D51 class, which aside from still needing its drivers painted, also needs some number boards. Still looking into my various options for that, but I am not too worried at the moment.

The second engine is a JNR class C58 2-6-2. This one fortunately already had the driver faces painted and number boards mounted. I am not satisfied with my painting of the number boards, so I will likely go back over those when I get a chance. Overall, I am glad that they are almost finished and look forward to acquiring and painting more obscure foreign locomotives in a scale that I though I had given up years ago...

An East bound Conrail passes beneath the abandoned bridge of the NYC subsidiary LE&P in 1978. The bridge scratchbuild is getting to the home stretch still need to add some more stuff to it then build the deck plate part of the span.

@unittrain,

That's a really nice looking bridge.  Beautiful work.  But, is that its final elevation?  Maybe it's the photo angle, but that clearance over the Conrail track looks tight.
