Anthracite Railroad in the 70s Volume 2 DVD

Good Morning!

I received this DVD in the mail in this week, and all I can say is wow!  It is interesting seeing LV operations right before Conrail.  Mike Bednar's commentary is awesome, and this DVD is making me think about modeling back into that time period of 1973-76.  Hmm...

Thanks,
Adam

Brendan,

There are 3 different shots of AM1 leaving Allentown (maybe 2 minutes worth of footage).  They had U33C units leading and trailing LV units.  I didn't even know that the LV and DH had a run-through train.  I assumed that DH service to Allentown was after the formation of Conrail.  You learn something new everyday.

Thanks,
Adam

With the sale going on this month, I will need to figure out how to budget for Railfanning with the Bednars Volume 5, 6, or 7 or Conrail Reading Line.  I haven't been disappointed with the two DVD purchases that I have made because it highlights an era that isn't really covered a lot on You Tube.

Thanks,
Adam

 ;)
about 1972/73 D&H and LV installed new switches and connecting tracks at Dupont
to speed the Alphabet trains to New England faster.
generally they kept C628s on the trains, but it appears some other power snuck in
 from time to time.
