Kato ACF hopper body mount

OK, I've done the search function and came up empty handed.   :?
I've body mounted 1015 on the ACF hopper, but get occasional axle rub issues.
What have other people used, 1023 or 1025's or both?
Thanks

I can't answer your question but 1023 and 1025 is the same coupler. One comes assembled from the factory while the other comes as a kit to be assembled by the modeler.

What about a 1015 knuckle in a 2001 box?  The 2001 box is thinner than the 1015 box.  Thanks.

I used 1023.  Seemed to work just fine.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Thanks, I'll start retrofitting with the 1023/25.

I also used the 1025, simply because I've been using them for 45 years, and am comfortable with them.  If you need even more clearance, the 1025 screw hole can be countersunk with a 3/32 bit, spun by hand, and a flathead screw will seat very nicely.

I found that out when I started installing 100-ton trucks.  The axles sit higher, and if the mounting screw is directly above the axle, the axle rubs on the standard MT screws.  Filing the screw head down works, but that makes it hard to remove coupler if it breaks.

As a remedy to this I have also replaced the thick-axle Kato wheels with wheel sets having thinner axles. At least the outboard wheels that rub against the coupler box.

MTL 905's are good fit and look great on this model.
