I knew I had some shots of the mods. Here's the slice. It's in the same place for both pieces and then welded next to the opening

@wcfn100 - Jason, I'm pretty sure that the "slice" is only done to the "gathering arm". Just to be sure, since it's been a while since I assembled any TS Couplers for use in your coupler pockets, I dismounted one assembled TS Coupler from one of my cabooses, opened it up, and sure enough, I've only sliced the "gathering arm" on all of my TSC modifications, not slicing the mounting collar on the other half.
This makes sense because the "slice" on the gathering arm increases the springiness of the coupler (decreasing coupling force) while the solid collar on the other arm retains coupler strength for being pulled in long trains.
Photo (1) - Showing the "slice" at the mounting collar of the gathering arm:Photo (2) - Showing no "slice" at the mounting collar for the opposite arm:I've photoshopped your photos you posted originally because the black coupler made seeing any details impossible. If you like, I can re-post them here along with your instructions included in the photos for clarity's sake.
Cheerio!
