Thats awesome.  I want sound in all of my locos but that would cost thousands. Which ones to choose? Your switcher is amazing.

Might you be able to confirm the dimensions of that decoder? It really doesn't look like it's 5mm tall in the photos, making me think (hope) the dimensions are including the insulation wrap that I'm assuming you removed(?).

I am trying to "will" one of these sound decoders down to 10mm wide or even a little less. ;)

I have another one that I'm going to start disassembling and I'll measure that one. The tallest part is the the boxy component. I can;t recall off the top of my head if it's a zener diode or a inductor since I'm not at home. I'll let you know ASAP.

I'm sure the 5mm includes the wrap and the connectors. I removed 2 plastic connectors. This REALLY invalidates your warranty. :)
