MP 4-6-2 DCC & Sound They're Here

Received my Southern 4-6-2 from Brooklyn Locomotive Works today and it was worth the wait. I placed it on my testing loop and right out of the box the performance was all I could ask-even the chuff rate was spot on.
Detail is very good for those able to overlook molded handrails and at $191.00 I am. Sound is very acceptable to me although I'll have turn it down some when exploring CV settings. Was unable to put enough cars on the loop to really test pulling power but 30+ 40'ers is easy. The only concern I have at this point is the wipers on the pilot truck which appear somewhat fragile, time will tell. Overall I'm very pleased even if it isn't the heavy Pacific Southern actually used. Let the picking commence.

:|        My SP is on the way it will be at least as good as the UP and SP 2-8-2's I received last month. The adjustable rear coupler will probably have to be lowered to match the standard MT coupler height, that is what was needed on my two Mikado's. I do have one complaint, when Model Power offered the original locomotives they manufactured a plain Union Pacific with a vandy coal tender as well as their very incorrect Semi-Streamlined loco in Two Tone Gray. Now the only DCC UP Pacific offered is a Semi-Streamlined one. "W-a-a-a-a !" Just adding a feed water tank on the smoke box top (plastic tubing and fine wire) would probably give the stock USRA locomotive a Southern Look. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

Just got my B&O Pacific from Trainworld.

Love it, runs and sounds great.

Now I have to add sound to my Bachmanns.

:|       I received my Southern Pacific locomotive yesterday. Very nice, it has the Pre War paint scheme with small "SOUTHERN PACIFIC LINES" on the tender. "Lines" was dropped and larger "SOUTHERN PACIFIC" was adapted between 1945 and 1946. It runs as good as my two Mikes. Nate Goodman (Nato).  :|
