Experiment in the Product Discussion Board
« on: September 26, 2015, 03:49:04 PM »
The Product Discussion board now allows you to vote on the quality of a post.  If you look in the upper right of a post, there are arrows and a number.  If you like somebody's post, click the up arrow.  If someone is being not cool, click the down arrow. The number is the difference of "likes" and "dislikes".

The end result is hopefully a little more information about products and less low quality sniping.

Also, please allow the moderators to handle situations.  If you come across a post that is negatively hypercritical and/or is just plain mean and antagonistic, vote it down and if it is really bad report it.  Do not escalate things by "back seat moderating".  This results in more problems and headaches for everybody.

Remember, one can be critical and still produce a great post.

I'm going to lock this but if you have questions or concerns pm me.

I was made aware that some of you couldn't see it.  I made permissions changes and if you can see the crew lounge, you should be able to see up/down voting.

Two more things:

1.  The highest rated messages are displayed in the Info Center on the main page.
2.  Messages that are voted at -5 or lower will appear tinted red without the content shown by default.

Thanks for all the feedback on this feature.  I've decided to roll out post voting to all the boards with the exception of Trading Post and Crew Lounge.
