N Scale Railroad Crossings

I have made some items on Shapeways that might be of interest to other N-scalers, so I thought I'd post them here. The basic idea was to build a cost-effective static RR crossing with warning lights on gantries. That turned into functional (pivoting) crossing gates, that turned into highway signs etc etc... :)
A selection:
N Scale Railroad Crossing 1 lane with gantry, gates are non-functional:

N Scale Railroad Crossing 2 lanes with gantry, gates are non-functional:

N Scale Crossing Warning Lights 10pc

N Scale Crossing Gates 1 Lane, with functional (pivoting) gate arms and a modern electronic gong atop the mast:

N Scale Highway Sign Gantry, this example is 96mm, but I can adapt this model to other widths

N Scale Highway Sign Cantilever

The highway gantry is very similar to the modern signal gantrys .. a little modification, and you could supply modern modelers ;)

Sweet. I was just about to do the two lane in brass but this might be a better alternative. Can the two lane version be drilled out to accept LEDs?

I could make them hollow so you don't have to drill. I have already made N scale traffic lights that can hold #0402 SMD LED's (link)

I'm already ahead of you, and working on older style signal gantries as well. :)

First let me say, "Thank You", for offering these items in FXD (Frosted Extreme Detail)!!!  It will go far in helping modelers get a finer product!!!  While the "Over the Road" signals are too modern for my interest I am none the less glad to see them being offered.  You might want to share your work with the N3D group on Facebook... it is a great way to let people know what is being designed and printed.

I would ask for only one thing, as far as the crossbuck and other signals go... offer them without the "X" crossing sign.  These signs are very thin and it would help modelers who would want to have a more correct thickness for these signs.  Just a thought...

As for your traffic lights... Wow!!!  I may still have to take a look at these, though it would be to create the four sided signals that were so common on in so many small towns.  Some filing should yield a proper signal for such an application.  Thank you!!!

I really like those gates and overhead lights.... think I need to get out the credit card....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

The first gates have been unpacked, checked and are ready for paint. The single lane gates are very well balanced, the two lane gates want to fall over with the arm down (no surprise). Since you want to glue them down anyway this is no problem.
