I saw a pic once of a wine car in NYC. I had thought these stayed in Cali or something like that. Must of went everywhere.

Manishevitz maybe?  Seriously, wine and its byproduct, vinegar, were used in food production so they could be found all over, but no unit trains please.

Taylor Wines in upstate NY used to get blending wines from California. No doubt others did as well.

They have one of these "6 Domers" living (kinda) at the Orange Empire Railway Museum (Perris, CA) (70529 GATX, 1941)

Chateau Martin also shipped bulk wine from California to the east; NYC and Baltimore and possibly others (see the link below). InterMountain once was doing their milk reefer in the Chateau Martin scheme, but it was cancelled for lack of reservations.

 :?
how about Martini & Rossi ?
  or Italian Swiss Colony wines.
they both ran lots of commercials in the NYC vicinity in the late
  50s and early 60s.
but not sure if they actually leased any Rail cars ?

James Lancaster's site has a couple of pics of the cars in Baltimore, one of which I am pretty sure is the Mt. Clair yard.  I have no idea where they went in Baltimore but would wager a guess that they could have ended up at the vinegar plant near Druid Hill though.
