Info dump gold!

Picked up a 1995 Conrail freight schedule binder. Not only does this cover intermodal, coal unit and general trains, it gives the times and frequency of locals with info on how the locals are numbered!

Prior to finding this, I only had a rough idea of major trains that ran through the Boston line. Now I have exact dates, days and times and instructions on how to name locals.

If I ever get a chance, I'll scan it into a PDF file for the CRHS. Just wish this was a 1998 schedule, but I'll take what I can get and this probably covers 70-80% if my future operations.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Back in the day, you could request those schedules and they would send you one.  Then you could pay for a subscription and get the updates as they were released.  I think they stopped that around 1990 as that’s the last update I have and I never bothered to get any more.

It was amazing what they would send out if you asked for it.  Like I asked for and received locomotive assignment lists – They sent one sorted by locomotive and another sort by location.  Nice snapshot of what was based where at a point in time including stored power.  They used to send out neat little pocket locomotive roster data books too.  Again, by 1990 they stopped most of that as well - at least as far as general requests. I remember someone telling me they didn't have the staff to continue doing that kind of stuff any longer.

However, there were certain requests they would still fulfill. As a Reading fan and using my RCT&HS acquisitions committee label, in 1991 I asked for a list of all former Reading equipment and received an itemized report of every car whether it had RDG or CR reporting marks, built date, CR class, where it was, and when it last moved.  Cool stuff.

Getting back to the schedules, Are you aware of this page?

There is a 1998 schedule pdf near the bottom.
