If I could find them, I suspect I would buy them.

I have a variety I found on the Atlas parts list.

they all seem a bit small for steam drivers.

Well, everyone seems to have discounted the test without trying it themselves. So jdcolumbo's offering of an inexpensive, easy to apply, no machinist's degree potential solution to an age old issue for locos that do not come with a traction tire, well that's OK.

I'm a believer that at least initially, the tape is just as effective for traction as a traction tire.

Maybe I'll just have to see just how many cars it can pull up that grade for eight hours...

By the way Victor, my Berk needed no extra weight up front to run just fine on the layout. I saw no evidence of it running light on the pilot truck.

Peteski, since the tape is only 0.003" thick, I don't think it is any more proud of the driver surface than the Traction Tire and should not have affected the weight distribution much.

Hi Lemosteam,

front drivers staying on the rails is Good!

I hate making pewter tool boxes for pilot decks anyway.

the paint never matches.
