Anyway, no immediate modeling work, be we did enjoy a weekend of "research"...Included a nice stop for (almost) lunch with Ed K, Dave Foxx, Ben Snyder and Ryan Lamm... I say almost because the train crew gives you 90 minutes to grab lunch while they spin the loco around, but the clowns in the restaurant we went to felt like 2 hours was more appropriate. We ended up boxing up our order and running down the hill to catch the train back to Cumberland. I don't think Ed's crew ate at all...Lee
I know I am a little late, but problems with my computer made it impossible to post what little I could access. Last weekend the local 4-H club sponsored a train show. Being a part of the 4-H as well as one of the clubs that brought a layout, I was somewhat busy with menial tasks that stunted my modeling for the weekend, but it was all worth it. The show was fun, I got to run some trains, and I also picked up some N scale freight cars for decent prices from a friend of mine. I was unable to take photographs of the show, but I have been given permission by our club cinematographer Ken to post his video from the show. All credit goes to him:I only got to run two trains this show; the PRR S1 running light and the CSX freight with elephant style SD80macs. Also at the show, I got to finally see @VonRyan 's Killishandra Nn3 layout, which looks even better in person! I also took possession of his dead 0-6-0 to be serviced this coming weekend. In between odd jobs, working on my HO Japanese brass, and working on a 4-H members HO PRR brass, I was informed by @VonRyan that there was a car show occurring only minutes away from our train show. Being the car buffs we are, we took a side trip down there and ended up being invited to be part of the show! My car is nowhere near show quality (and fortunately for me, we were not the only ones), but we had fun anyway. This is the one picture I can get to work of the show, showing my work-in-progress as she sits:I also managed to take some close up photographs of the new Kato Amtrak Veterans P42, which I will upload to the appropriate thread once I can get the photographs on my computer.Overall, it was quite the weekend, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Next time I will make sure to take more pictures!
Nice Olds Chris, is it a 58?Thanks , Mike
Thank you. My car is a 1954 Oldsmobile 98. I believe the 58's had dual headlights. I also believe the front ends were very different as well (53 and 54 shared similar front ends, with bumper changes coming about in 55 and 56). I am just glad somebody recognized it as an Oldsmobile (the Oldsmobiles do not seem to be as popular as say Chevy and Cadillac). It was one of three Oldsmobiles at the show (a 39-ish resto-mod and a mid-sixties/early 70's Cutlass).
