It does look better than just the end of a passenger car when running in push mode.  Can't say it's pretty, but I've seen a lot worse.

Frankly, when I saw these when I was in L.A. last year I thought they were butt-ugly. The proportions are all wrong. The angle of the photograph is flattering, in person they are "WTF?". I'd rather see the bare car end with the cab perch. At least those can still be used in-consist in a pinch (provided the diaphragm is intact), the shovelnose cab cars cannot.
