I use a pair of tweezers that have the tip (about 1/2 inch) angled about 30 degrees or so. I find it's easier than using a flat blade screwdriver.


Yeah, that's what I do too.  I like this method because it applies equal pressure to both sides of the bolster using the floor as the fulcrum.

I haven't had any trouble with the pins not staying in after having been removed.  Of course, if you remove them enough times they'll wear, but if that happens, squeeze them gently in a pair of pliers, to make them slightly oval, and they fit tightly again.  I used to have to do that with some other brands, which weren't as durable.

It's Doug and I did give some thought to converting to Z-Scale couplers but I have far too may pieces to do them all so I'm going to stick with the N-Scale ones for now.

And, I agree with Snark45 in that the newer cars seem to have the pin issue more than the older ones.

Sorry Doug.

I'm in the same situation as you.  But I feel like in the future I'd like to lower my micro trains cars and it's tough to do that and fit the N scale couplers.
