I think it is a bold move on the part of BLI
it is definitely a unique and awesome locomotive, the 4-8-8-4 of the diesel world?
I think it will sell well and those who purchase them will be glad they did

Thankfully, I could get away with just one, too, if I succumbed to the purchase of a Seaboard Centipede.  I sure hope I don't, though, because it's not even close to my era.  But, the Centipedes are cool!

Kudos, BLI!  I hope you sell the heck out of them.

I was putzing around RRPA and saw this shot of the PRR Centipedes in St Louis.



Sometime I forget that the PRR (and NYC) went to St Louis. Everyone seems to model the east end.

I loaned it to him some time back and he checked it over.  If you check the Spookshow site, that is my loco he now shows.  Guess the price of these on flebay will go way down now.

That may change if BLI decides to start making PRR-specific equipment like they do in HO Scale. The centipedes are really tempting. The only reason I went with all brass is that they were usually well detailed and relatively fun to work on. Now that BLI is prospectively making some interesting items, I may adapt to accept plastic into the fleet to fill my needs.

the steam offerings has more.

I think sound and DCC are needless expenses...
from what I can tell about the cost of the m1.... I doubt I'll get two.

and the cost of the sound unit will irk me more if I consider getting a back-up.

the timing of the diesel will be a large factor in the decision to buy.
price will be a bigger factor.
I balk at 200 dollar steamers, I can't imagine a diesel will be easy.
