Hello;
 Researching in the internet I stumbled upon some comments about this car and this company. Were these actually released? Any photos? Thanks.

Isn't someone working in a coil car? ESM?
Doesn't Doug Nelson have a coil car?

Yes they were released by Railyard Models and improved over the early reviews.  But they were discontinued a while later and Gene eventually decided to "cease operations" and is now working for another manufacturer.    I have photos of the first 6 I built on my layout, but can't post them right now.   You may see them offered again.

ESM has acquired the G41 molds and fixtures and product rights from RYM, but the model needs enhancement/modification before being reintroduced.  For starters, the draft gear has to be refined to accept MTL couplers, and the delicate resin components need to be re-engineered as brass or stainless steel etchings.  Currently, the model is not on the schedule, as there are a number of other projects pending that need completion.

Not sure what you mean here.  I built one of the Railyard G41a kits in '06 and MT couplers fit just fine.  It made into a neat car.  I do have a pic or two...I sure wish I had it back.

When the kit returns, it will have the same draft gear as used on the X58.  Stronger and more durable.

Here are a couple of photos of the Railyard Models N scale G41a.  It is a resin kit and some of the parts are fragile, but it makes a very nice model.  He did these both in N and HO, but as was mentioned Railyard is gone.  Its a pretty interesting car if it fits your era and I think it would do well if ESM comes out with it.  It spanned late PRR, PC, I believe Conrail, and I don't know about NS.  I would not be surprised if a number of these kits are sitting in peoples workshop unbuilt.  With luck, you may find one.

I wouldn't mind picking up a few of these. I know Conrail ran these during my mid-90's era. I wouldn't even need the covers as all I've seen were in CR paint without covers.

When I first found out about them I acquired 2 but over a period of time I have got a number of others. Some had PC decals and others had Conrail but I will be getting the decals done for just PRR models. Nothing green or blue in my collection.

Will be looking for a few more Bryan

I'm just glad to hear they're back in the pipeline from someone. I was a poor college student back in the day when RYM had them available, but once again. Bryan finds a way to eventually separate me from my hard-earned ducats...

Bryan is a Conrail modeler's secret weapon. I just wish I got that X72 multi-pack he had on eBay a few weeks ago!
