I noticed tat BLI does not have any word or model of the Pennsy M1a. I ordered three last year. After having ordered 2 when they where originally announced many many years ago.
Are we going to be strung along forever by BLI

Jim

BLI just updated their delivery schedule page yesterday  http://www.broadway-limited.com/schedule.aspx

The M1a/b is now due March 2015.  Looks like all the dates have moved out.  The HO guys are complaining because the H10s that was due in Spring 2014 moved to July and is now due in September 2014 or December or January 2015 depending on where you look on the web site.  BLI has a few problems with consistency...

Are you kidding??  BLI has been VERY consistent on delivery schedules!!!  The M1's have remained one year away for at least five years now!

The H2a hoppers are due in September, and they do have decorated test shots on hand.  I would wait to see if that date gets missed before worrying about the M1a not remaining on its current schedule.

Actually I wouldn't mind if it slipped to April or so.  That puts it in tax refund financing time.  I'm even still okay with the Atlas S-2's not showing up until late 2014 now for similar reasons.

Then you never saw one.

No I haven't... such is part of the problem in not having a good hobby shop to visit locally.  Unfortunately shots on the web are a bit inconclusive but I do stand corrected on this.  Thanks for letting me know!!!

Athearn keeps saying on facebook that they have new N scale tooling in the works but no sign of it yet! Also I asked Exactrail if they planned on any new N and have yet to get a response! :x Maybe some of these manufactures only want one scale to exist (HO) so they can keep product development costs down and have a simple market.

Athearn does have a couple of projects for N but they have stated they are going to be concentrating on getting production back on schedule and re-building cash flow and thence HO scale was what they were going to concentrate on.

I actually think there were some pretty interesting announcements for N scale in the last few weeks. The days of a lot of new announcements at the N scale convention and NTS are over, probably forever. But overall, I'm pleased with what was announced.

Likely true.  Before instant communications announcements almost had to be made where there were reporters to publicize them.  Today, anyone can announce anything online, and anyone interested can read it, at any time.  The conventions will probably continue to evolve into social show-and-tell events only, with any manufacturers present just to "meet the customers", and maybe to show new items to those who want to see "reality" rather than pixels.

I'd like to get the EL and PRR SD45's by Bachmann, but I'm going to make darned sure the tooling is a big jump forward from the older version SD45 that Bachmann put out.
