After more than a month of not going out, I took my son yesterday and caught 4 trains in about a 45 minutes.

The first was a BNSF mixed with a KCS unit.

Unfortunately most of Springs doesn't set up well for afternoon filming.  :|

There was a coal train and empty UP autorack train.  I don't film too many coal train anymore as I have a ton, and I was driving for the autorack but my son got a video.

And finally, on the north siding there was a BNSF rail flat train.

Phil, I am not Robbman, but I think that might be a home made tank car.

I was wondering . . . 3500 GA capacity on friction bearing trucks with what appears to be a full size dome on top . . . . does make one think "parts lying around" but I'm not well versed in D&H from that perios to know if it was left over from something.

Jason,
Lots o gondolas in that video - nice catch!

Why it's a baby tank car.  Kinda cute.  Oh, and that's an Alco behind it.
It's the Alco behind the Alco and I don't mean the RS3!

Wow, how do you follow such great shots this week? Well, here is one of my favorites from the last few weeks:

The baby tank car picture was taken in the first half of 1976. In a folder labeled "1976 Jan-Jun" it is near the end. So it's probably early June.
