That is so cool.  Fox Valley is doing such great things for N scale modelers.  If this model meets the quality of their recent releases, it should be another home run.

Unfortunately, although I have an interchange with the Southern Ry. on my layout, I don't think I can justify running these cars through Aberdeen, North Carolina.  Somebody prove me wrong, please.

Funny, those don't look like -2s... but they're still pretty cool.

Here's a great video about Saluda grade that has these featured prominently.

Loved the innovations Southern was coming up with back then, very cool stuff. Too bad I have no use for them....who am I kidding? I'll probably get a bunch for a 'run when no one's looking' train.

Watched both of those, the 80MAC video a few times over :facepalm: really shows the grunt of an AC traction system when it nearly throws the engineer out of the seat when it cuts power.
