Good news for New England modelers: Johnsonville tower is available

The N scale version of the  N-Scale Architect's H0 tower is now available (I just ordered mine).

Well Ian, I don't know if you can blame me for missing the earlier announcement.  I searched the forum and the only other mention of the Johnsonville tower I found was a single sentence in your post stating "Same with Brian/Chucks Johnsonville tower,its a very limited run that you will hear about very shortly. I believe maybe at NSC.".  And this was posted in a thread titled "Walthers announces new PRR tower, problem is..." 

Um, can you blame me for missing that tiniest hint of an announcement (if you even want to call what you posted an "announcement of availability")? And BTW, no, I didn't attend NSC.  As far as "hearing about it" (as your sentence read), I heard about it much earlier, from the N Scale Architect's website.  I even contacted the Feather River back in April asking when it would be available.  Chucks response at that time was:
We do not have the final packaging or pricing in place yet. As soon as we do
there will be an announcement on the website.

Sorry to rehash the old (to you) news.

What's the trim color? Is that aged concrete, or did you use something else?

The trim color is, indeed, Poly S aged concrete.  The directions called for "dark yellow" for the windows so I tried depot buff but didn't like it.  I googled Johnsonville Tower and examined the photos and decided to use a brown, actually boxcar red, and it looked more like the photos.  I painted the bricks Poly S rust.
For the brick sheet: I first sprayed the sheet with Walmart buck-a-can gray paint.  I let it dry over night then brushed on a coat of Poly S rust.  When that was dry, I brushed on a very thin (thinned with water) coat of white.  When thinning, err on the side of caution as you can always do additional applications.  When that was almost dry, using a paper towel, I wiped the bricks being careful not to use too much pressure so the the towel pressed into the mortar grooves.  Wiping diagonally across the bricks helps (at least in MY mind it did  )  I think I did this twice to get the effect I wanted.  When I was happy, I dull coated the brick sheet.
I recommend you copy the picture on Chuck's site and enlarge it for reference while building.
