What is an R50B?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

No updates?! What does that mean? :?  They didn't confirm or deny, I hope its not dead. I seem to recall hearing they are tight lipped on things, so maybe that all it is.  Ugh!

I hope it is not dead too. I would need at least 10-12 of these. Every SPF needs at least 2-3 R50b and people modeling 1920-1970 any where outside the PRR could use 1 or 2 since these things traveled on a lot of mail trains.

True, especially since I don't own any yet...

Hello all,

I am not an employee of GHQ, but I can give you an update on the status of the PRR R50B reefer.
The project is not in any way dead, and it has just a few more kinks to work out.
It looks like it should be ready to roll out the door during the month of June (more or less).

They had some setbacks regarding the decal color, trucks, and the etch, but have come up with solutions. It looks like the kit will require that you buy BLMA or similar stirrups, but otherwise the kit should be complete, that is everything except the stirrups and your choice of couplers and wheel sets. The delay was mostly on my part. I am working on a two decal sheets that will allow you to do either most as-built to wartime schemes, or wartime through late-50s schemes.

Pictures and more information will be posted as soon as some decal testing has been completed.

Best regards,

Michael,
is GHQ still printing their decals in-house using an Alps printer?  I know that it how they they printed their decals in the past.

Michael,
Thanks for the update. This is good news. I know myself and all the other SPFs have been waiting for these cars. Make sure you have enough of those decals printed.  ;)
