Switch to HO, kinda

I did some cardstock mock-ups to make sure the tracks line up with the train shed (Wagonremise) and the mechanical shop (Werkstätte). I also did a cardboard building of the Hotel Touring to get the elvation right for the road underpass.

4 more switches added (2 Fast Track 9.5 degrees and to Bemo factory 12 degrees switches). Those are the tracks to go inside the train shed. Since the right tracks were closer together than normal, I had to shorten the factory switches.
I am using Bemo flex track but add every 6. tie a PC tie to get a better bond between the ties and the track (a weaknes on those Shinohara tracks). I also use those PC ties to attach the track to the cork with the ME spikes and for soldering the power leads.

While still installing more tracks in the railroad station, I also worked on the signals made from Lazerboard. I designed them, so they could be easily removed form the layout to clean the tracks, etc. Each one has a connector attached on the bottom.









This is just the prototyp and the one I will install still needs to be painted and the light of the LEDs shielded.

That's very nice. What are you using to drive the signals? Excellent!

My signals are just decoration. The Station signals will be switched by hand via Relays. The signals between stations with reed contact on approach. Since I will be the only one that runs the layout, everything else would be overkill.
