Hi Guys,
I can be persuaded to build just about anything if the numbers add up. On the 50' cars, they get scattered very quickly. Sure, only a few schemes will be mostly correct for a 6' superior door, but that does that mean the others are not worth offering? As for tooling each correct door variant - not likely. I will not say never, but which one - 9', 10'? Then do I get blasted if I do another close but not quite on a 9' door that should be a 10' scheme? I can get blasted for that now without any investment:)
I like building this stuff, but it is not strictly a hobby. This stuff has to have a return. All of these schemes will sell well. Why, because people want them. Most of the buyers are general modelers or just enjoy the Milwaukee and like having the schemes they remember running on their layout. Most will not know or care of the nuances. Many of them will get them all. You must remember that as you get more specific, picky, or prototype - your numbers as a group diminish quickly. Where a number of general modelers will get many, the prototype modelers will get one or two. Not a complaint, just the way it is and I get it. So sometimes I make decisions that will cause a ruckus. If the "group" buys enough of the "Correct" cars, I can go forward and invest in other variations that will sell less than the previous one. Interesting predicament - no? But the prototype group alone does not approach those numbers. That's Ok though - that's why we have the other releases
Is there an ideal solution? Not really, but if you really want a new variant, write the check and we can chat. Enjoy the schemes you like and you can pass on the ones you don't - No worries. We'll keep offering a balance. Thanks and I hope you all enjoy the Holidays!
Best regards,
Matt
