Just goto your local watering hole. They have them by the roll.

Thanks Otto. I'm one of those folks that loves the winter, the snow, and the cold... heck, I even love shoveling snow. My only complaint about a heavy snowfall is that it still isn't enough, and in the depth of a heavy winter storm, you can find me gleefully driving in it. Love it!

And it does make for some great photographic opportunities  ;)

Summer, heat, humidity... like a thousand knives of fire in my soul.

You are one sick  :ashat:, my friend.  :D

You know what I like most about winter?

Nothing. Not one dang thing. An' I'm about as close to normal as a man can be. I think.

Why?

-Cody F.

Almost every bar uses those matts. They provide cushioning and a nonslip surface. Once dosed in everything in the cabinet, you take'm out back hose them. So either you wait out back with a pick-up truck or just ask the owner kindly to take the tattered ones when they replace them.

Most of my problem is that I have never worked on trains while sitting down at a desk. I always stand up and my work bench is 4 or more feet in the air. When I try to "work" sitting down my back ends up hurting.  :|

Parts are ordered from Bachmann...

While on the subject of Bachpersonn's hitting the ground..............I was trying to check the performance of a B-mann eight wheeler on some adjustments to the trackwork on a part ofmy pike.  I turned around for a minute and did not see that two freight cars parked on a spur had slid to the switch.  The eight wheeler hit it, fell and broke the plastic loop on the tender where the screw on the locomotive passes through it.  Now to figure out how to repair it.

Phillip, I have a brand new 4-6-0 drawbar if you need it.

Thanks, Erie Chris, but it is the 1870s eight wheeler, not the turn of the twentieth century ten wheeler.

I may model Eastern roads in N, but at heart, I am a fan of SP California steam.  I modelled it in HO.  On the SP, as on all Harriman roads, a 4-4-0 was an eight wheeler.  SP, which gave most of its classes letter designations taken from the common name for the wheel arrangement, classed 4-4-0s a 'E' class.

As this loop is part of the tender casting, a repair will be necessary, as it appears that a component can not be screwed out and swapped out.

....and yes, Peteski, it is brokalloop, or something like that...........

I've dropped models from my large built-in shelf unit where I do some of the model photography from a standing height, and they have survived drops of four feet and greater.  It's worth looking into the tiles for at least your workbench area.  Tools and containers also would survive drops to the floor.

Then you might find this shot of my old foamer chase car in the snow somewhat disturbing. What a glorious day that was!

That could be interesting.

All that said, I'm certainly not complaining about the sunny +10C weather we've been having here the last week or so!

Winter is coming, but this fall weather is pretty nice for now. :)
