In my part of west Michigan white and silver are the dominant colours .It is normal to pull up to a traffic light and find myself almost surrounded by white cars.

That's intresting, here in SE Michigan I see mostly silver and black cars.
I'm going to throw in my vote for more '70s cars and PICK UP TRUCKS!
(An F-100 in light blue would be really appreciated.)

A couple of interesting Internet articles concerning buyer preferences for particular (prototype) automobile finishes.

http://www.drivingthenation.com/?p=133

The North America chart near the center of the article is particularly interesting as it breaks the color popularity down to vehicle types.

:|       The most common color in my area is two-tone Gray with either gold or silver striping accents. I remember Mercedies (spell check name) did a scientific research project in the late 1980's I believe showing that for visibility and safety "Lime Green" was the best color followed by some yellow and orange shades. Shortly after that some fire departments began going to yellow or L Green trucks, but I see that Benz stuck with the popular consumer shades, black, silver, white etc. Nate Goodman (Nato).
