N scale question of the week! 10/19/2011

I know it has only been a few days, but today I am waiting for an flight with plenty of time to spare. so here we go again!

So today, My iPhone crashed. No biggie really, it has done it before, but this time I couldn't get it to power back on, and my computer wouldn't reconize it. Finally after panicing and trying a hard reset, I got it to work.

Another time, when I was installing a sound decoder in a GS4, I somehow shorted it out, and it stopped working all together, again I paniced, and started franticly searching though the manuals and forums. Nothing worked. Finally, out of desperation, I did a factory reset, and the bugger came back to life.

so thats the question:
When has something N scale just stopped working for no real reason, and you paniced untill it worked again.

this one should bring up some great stories!

Some years ago I bought an Overland SD70 in NS...   It took one loop around my then tiny little layout and dropped dead. I sent it back twice I believe - finally got it working and then sold it at a big loss on Ebay (I was honest about it's lousy performance).

But boy was I upset when it died out of the box.
