BLMA 53' Spine Cars have Snuck into the HS's

I was just on my favorite hobby shops website and noticed that the BLMA 53' Spine Cars (3-unit sets) are now available.  Didn't see that they were shipping so soon on the heels of the 5 unit cars, but I'm happy to see they are here.  They're saying Craig is already sold out, so get them if you need them while they can still be found...

Sean found 2 5-car spines at the hobby shop in Easton, PA from the early run. He left with his wallet a bit lighter that day. :) Tremendous looking cars indeed!

Yup, but that's Tom's problem now ..

I have enough intermodal stuff for now, and I wasn't happy with how the 5 unit sets stayed on the track and the end detail are too fragile IMO. . I ended having to swap all the wheels for FVMs to get it to work reliably.   Could be crappy track work, but then again, it could be out of guage wheels ..

We just had that same issue at the FEC one-track meet for this year, granted as a modular set-up that has some older somewhat more battered track, and still uses joiner tracks in many spots, but we could not get these gorgeous spines to stay on track and finally removed them in frustration. We are going to start experimenting with other wheels now... as an aside my old N Scale kits spines ran well, but they used FVM wheels so that might be the answer here.

I had a similar problem with the gons.  I swapped out the wheels-sets for other makes and all was good.
