Anyone know what would be the prefered psi setting for a Badger 100LG airbrush?
I've never used an airbrush before and am not sure the proper psi. :RUEffinKiddingMe:

It will depend on what your material is that your spraying and the viscosity of it.  What kind of material are you spraying?  Solvent or Acrylic?

For Floquil [solvent based paint] I thin it just a bit, then I'll use 20-25psi.

Most will say 18-30 psi.

I would say start with 18-20psi and adjust as needed.  If the material looks as if it's spattering, not going on smooth and even, then increase the pressure a bit to help atomize it more.   If this doesn't help, then try thinning the material a bit.
If your material looks rough, or looks like powder, the decrease the pressure a bit.

If everything turns black, you're pointing the airbrush at your glasses..

Carl

You seem to be going to a lot of trouble to paint a PC unit.  Just use a ratle can  like the prototype :D

Carl,
I generally spray my acrylics (Pollyscale and Badger) at about 25 PSI.  I thin 10% with window washer fluid.  I use a double action Aztec so I have two ways to control the flow, and it seems to work.

Basically you just need to load up some paint, get a sheet of white styrene, and go to town until you get a setting you like.
