What do you think the odds are (Kato Question)...

What do you think the odds are that Kato is going to do the modern version of the Heritage Fleet passenger cars, for example using some of the COLA cars and adding one or two of the more modernized cars like a power car, inspection car, etc...

This is always intertwined into questions about Kato doing one of the UP steamers, so have at that question too...

Thanks for your insights....   ;)

With the number of COLA sets still out there wainting to be bought I would suggest it might be some time, if ever.  I would expect to see a blanked out rear end observation car version sold before any other variation.

Gotta remember the UP business train has been done in brass and still widely available. Plus there are plenty of COLA sets still out there. Not to mention they've released another CZ set, which previous runs took a little while to bake off. IIRC there will be a release of the Super Cheif coming too. That's a lot sitting on the shelves for a forseeable period of time.

I think they'd go for a bigger splash on the next "name" train or maybe a hi-vis loco release. But then again they've done some odd things :D.

Mabey something more northwestern?
*cough, NCL*

I know, I know, it don't have a specific locomotive, they mostly used F units, but going on the "if you make it, they will come.....and make it also" idea, it would make since. Because I am starting to acculimnate the cars I need to make my own NCL.

Good points, I think the concensus is right on this...

Need to take a look at the COLA Set again - I think it has a number of the cars (or close) that are around today,
although there are a lot of cosmetic differences.

Richie - loaded question - do you think the Heritage Fleet would have sold BETTER than the COLA?

Personally I think so, especially if they had done it with the FEF...
