Wouldn't Atlas be the more logical choice to lobby for this? The mechanism already exists, and technically the body and detail parts as well. Only a new blank for the cab area and new handrails would need to be tooled - far less expensive than tooling a diesel from scratch, especially an esoteric prototype.
Des Plaines Hobbies has a conversion available: http://www.desplaineshobbies.com/store/product/31607/N-GP7-9-B-CONV-KIT/The only hangup is you're on your own for splicing walkways and handrails.Pete
I have tried Atlas many times , now I am thinking out of the box wrapped in red tape .
If I remember correctly (it's been a while since I looked at this), the UP and PRR units were different phases, so whatever unit was picked would only be correct for one road name plus whatever repaints or mergers they survived.Paul
Am interested in the history of the BNSF unit.
