In the not too distant future, you could get some used iphones - droids off of ebay probably cheaper than a new digi throttle ..

Just an FYI, it doesn't have to be a phone to run JRMI wifi throtle.  While its nice if you have an existing phone that you can repurpose, I'm not sure if it will ever be cost effective to buy a used phone.  As long as a device runs the ios or android os with wifi it should work.  A refurbished ipod touch from apple is around $160. 7" and smaller android tablets can be found around $100, such as the Archos 28 for ~$88.  Which should put you in/under the price range of current wireless offerings from DCC manufacturers.

Yeah, but the Lite version on Iphone is pretty stripped down. I had it on my Iphone, never got a chance to actually use it, since I still don't have JMRI or any of the other stuff set up to my circle of track!  ;D I mostly downloaded it to play with it, I figured in the future I would run into someone who was using the system, and I would need a throttle also....

Well that's just lame.

Yet again, Droid > iPhone.

I'm stuck with a Blackberry. Biggest piece of crap I've ever used.

Ed .. I think the droid software is made by a different programmer ... there are big differences between the two

It is and it was a port of the iPhone one and that's where I'll leave it,
